TG Halli dam backwaters

TG halli resorvoir once upon a time used to supply water to Bangalore. Not sure if it does anymore. The backwaters are a good spot to observe raptors and aquatic birds. I have heard of this place before and decided to check it out last sunday. You should take the deviation to the right before you reach the dam main gate. The road itself is a mud road so driving becomes tricky. If you drive in the centre you can get stuck in the pit created by lorries and if you drive on the periphery you might end up scratching the vehicle ( which is what happened to my accent ). Myself, priya, her father and her chitapa reached the place around 7 am. Looks like that time is bit late since the birds i noticed when i just reached were starting to move off. But what i liked about the place is that it is calm and not many people turn up there. In fact we were the only people around. we were there for around 1 1/2 hrs before coming back. If you get a chance do check it out. It is a nice place to hang out especially in the morning or evening.
