White cheeked barbet
When you are in lalbagh next time if you hear the kutre...kutre...call then look around. It is an indication that this guy is nearby. One unknown fact is that white cheeked barbet's are endemic meaning they are seen only in southern india.

Mottled Wood Owl - curious look
Seems like I started blogging only yesterday. Have completed 300 posts in my blog. Sat morning since this owl was perched high we developed neck pain constantly starring at him for close to 1hr. For that day yes he had become a "pain in our neck" :)

Mottled Wood Owl
The catch from today mornings trip to Lalbagh. Special thanks to Deepa/Anush for taking us to the location. Looking at this beautiful owl you really develop a respect for what camouflage in nature is all about. Knowing my spotting skills and identifying I am very sure on my own I would have never noticed it.

With this pair they were taking turns and sleeping while the other one kept watch :)

Spotted Owlet winking at me :)

I made many images of this guy trying to be alert, preparing to take off, falling asleep but this was one of my favorites. We were continuosly moving around the tree to get a better view of this guy. He was aware of it and he stayed there motionless. Though he was feeling very sleepy he decided to keep an eye on us :)

One more. Trying to be alert in this case.

Once again changing the blog layout. The oldlayout was cool but could not make the customizations which i wanted or may be i do not know how to do it :(

Lalbagh Trip
Had heard about the spotted owlets in Lalbagh but had not seen one myself. Last weekend got an oppurtunity to see them. Should thank Deepa for this. Couple of my favorite images from last week lalbagh visit.

Every since I started doing photography have come across lot of beautiful flowers. Unfortunately do not know most of their ids. This also falls into that list.
