Holland | Dutch history & landscapes

Made a trip to holland and belgium as part of summer vacations. One of the main interests was the tulip fields. But sadly sudden frost looks like led to early harvest and the expected tulip bloom was considerably reduced. Images from the trip.

Amsterdam is a jewel. 2 days just does not do justice to this place in terms of photography. The city needs a visit in morning again in the night once when the architecture around the city glows in the night. Here is a dam square area right outside the amsterdam central station.

The other interest was windmills. We made a day trip to zaanse schans. This place definitely needs a additional trip early in the morning or late in the evening when the crowd is not present and the light is diffused.

The main attraction was the tulip fields. I had made quite a number of images. But again images do not do justice to what is witenessed through eyes.

Binnenhof is a complex of buildings near hofvijver lake. It is a heritage site and is the oldest functional house of parliament.

One more view of Lisse tulilp fields. The right time to visit these would probably early in morning so that crowd can be avoided.

Here is another favourite image from trip which i made in keukenhof. Wanted to show case a single tulip amidst sea of tulips.
