Lotens Sunbird - Female
Sunbirds have adapted beaks which are elongated to open up flowers and their tongue is tubular so that it acts like straw for sucking nectar. Since I made this image at f/8 the background is not diffused. Actually if you look close the out of focus yellow patch is another sunbird :)

Thanks Deepa. The last 3 images Ashy prinia, Sunbird and flowerpecker were made at hebbal deepa. At hebbal they have now put up a fence which blocks the path way to the fishing ponds where we usually get to see all the 3 kingfishers ( white throated, common and pied ). Because of this the birding area is greatly reduced since fishing pond is the place where all the action happens.
