On the second day of stay at ooty myself and priya decided to drive down to muthorai which is around 17kms from ooty. That is the place where people from INW had spotted the elusive white bellied shortwing. The place was a dense shola and we waited for around 1hr to see if the shortwing turned up. While waiting out of no where this bird turned up within my camera min focus distance. I had no time to react and had just taken one record shot before he flew off. Later in the botanical garden happened to meet prasad another avid trekker/photographer who clarified what i had got was nilgiri laughingthrush. Looks like this bird is in endangered species list.
