It has been a long time since i posted. Have not gone out much either. This one is from the dandeli visit. One of the days around afternoon our group spotted a coppersmith barbet. He is a very common bird but i guess everyone got exited mainly because uptil that point we had not seen anything else for that day. When nothing major gets spotted after a intensive lookout even a regular bird gets lot of attention. This guy kept making the tuk..tuk..tuk call and we assembled around the tree and started photographing him.

The pygmy woodpecker who is his neighbor must have got disturbed by all this commotion. He did not realize where this noise was coming from. He came out checked the barbet first to see what his neighbor was upto.

Noticing nothing unusual think by now he is used to the barbet tuk..tuk sound he was trying to locate where else the noise was coming from.

He gazed downwards and saw the crowd below. He went back in after he figured out it was a bunch of crazy photographers who have disturbed his afternoon nap :)

the last pic where that guy tries to figure out the source of the noise is pretty cute..the entire eisode just reminds u that these beautiful birds like all of us have a life, with all sort of disturbances :) its really good to see that there are atleast few people who treat these beautiful creatures with all the respect they deserve.
